Hamilton: "I Am Not Throwing Away My Shot!"
7 Ways This Broadway Show Might Make You a Better Entrepreneur
Hamilton creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda, suggested in a bonus interview that more people would view Hamilton over this past weekend than had seen the show since its off-broadway opening in 2015. I was one of the people who watched and listened to it for the first time.
An Entrepreneurial Vibe
The Hamilton portrayal of the birth of our nation has a really innovative, entrepreneurial vibe. So here are seven quotable lines from the show that just might help you to run your business better:
1. “I am not throwing away my shot.”
This is the refrain from Alexander Hamilton throughout the show … “Hey yo, I'm just like my country, I'm young, scrappy and hungry, and I'm not throwing away my shot.” Hamilton demonstrates powerfully that he has Vision, and he’s determined to get Traction! He has a good sense of his Core Values (young, scrappy and hungry) and his Core Focus to be a big influence for winning a new kind of democracy. Do your Core Values and Core Focus inspire the passionate determination of your team to “take their best shot” as they engage in the cause of your company?
