IMPROVING LEADERSHIP MEETINGS - SAY IT IN ONE SENTENCE & MAKE IT HURT

The most likely source of this issue is a lack of trust – an unwillingness to say it like it is.

Predicting the Unexpected
This one is thought provoking! Is your life going exactly as you planned? How have companies like Tiffany & Co., Avon, Raytheon, Dupont and Nokia changed since their inception? Does a bee know its purpose?
Marshall Thurber, protegé of Buckminster Fuller and W. Edwards Demming, suggests there is something in front of us that we just don't see. How do we begin to predict it? "Stay in motion, Thurber says, and watch what's going on out of the corner of your eye."
In EOS, we stay in motion with our "Rocks" and watch what's going on out of the corner of our eye by identifying "Issues" (including obstacles, barriers, ideas, and opportunities).

Book I Read This Week
Designing Your Life - How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life was a fun read this week!
The authors teach a course on this topic based on their experience at the Stanford Design school. The book takes you through the process of designing your life, from completing your current Work / Play / Love / Health dashboard to envisioning lots of possibilities and prototyping them with your design team.
Highlights for me included the concept of "wayfinding" ... things never go exactly as planned, so we need to be alert to the new possibilities that only emerge as we move forward.
