What does Independence Day mean to you? To me it is all about freedom! Stop for a moment to think of the freedoms you enjoy. Then ask yourself if you would like to achieve more freedom in any areas of your life? Would you like to experience more freedom in your business?
Unfortunately, many business owners and leaders feel as though their business has a stranglehold on them. People problems are weighing them down. Profits are lagging. Their whole company or a department has “hit a ceiling” and can’t seem to break through. If you ever feel this way, it’s time to “Get A Grip” on your business. Take control of it so it doesn’t control you!
As an EOS Implementer, I help entrepreneurial leadership teams to achieve the freedoms of “The EOS Life”… Getting the freedoms they really want from their business.
Five Freedoms You Can Enjoy by Living the EOS Life!
By following the process to implement EOS tools and disciplines, entrepreneurs strengthen the key components of their business. And by strengthening the key components of their business, the most common issues melt away. The following five fabulous freedoms are revealed!
Do What You Love To Do
As entrepreneurial leaders build a great organizational structure they get the Right People in the Right Seats. They free themselves from being personally involved in every part of the business. Smart leaders “delegate and elevate” their teams into the roles they could fulfill but don’t really love or feel passionate about. Entrepreneurial leaders like you can live into what Strategic Coach calls your “Unique Ability”. This means you do more of what you love to do. And you enable others to do the same as they fulfill the roles you used to take on yourself.
Work With The People You Love
Life is short, but sometimes the work day can be long! You want to be surrounded by people you enjoy working with. People who are helping you to further the cause of your organization. One of the keys is to know who the “right people” are for your organization. Tools we leverage here include your Core Values and the Accountability Chart. People who share your Core Values will see problems and opportunities through the same lenses as you do. My experience has been that a group of people who share core values have no need for positioning, posturing, or politicking. This is because the core values guide them to a consistent way of doing things. With a good Accountability Chart, expectations are more clear and people can be trusted to execute.
Deliver Real Value and Impact in Your Chosen Market
You and your team must deliver real value to your clients. You are free to effectively design and document your Core Processes to deliver the unique capabilities of your brand. Inspecting your processes to ensure they are being “Followed by All,” helps you build what Dan Sullivan has referred to as a “Self-Managing Company.” Would you like one of those? By creating a self-managing company, you are freed by a more effective, efficient, and profitable company. And when your company is delivering high levels of value and customer satisfaction, the next freedom we’ll talk about becomes possible.
Be Well Compensated
Creating freedom in all of the previously mentioned areas brings you more freedom with your money. I saw Dave Ramsey speak one time and he referred to dollar bills as “certificates of appreciation.” When you love what you do, enjoy the people you do it with and deliver real value, your clients will literally sense a different value in what you do and why you do it. The result will be more certificates of appreciation for everyone on your team. Your abundant financial resources will afford you all sorts of other freedoms to enjoy what life has to offer and bless the lives of others.
Which brings me to our final freedom …
Enjoy Other Pursuits Besides Your Business
As you make strides in building a team and a company that can run more independent of you, you are not only creating a more valuable business. You are gaining the freedom of time to pursue your other passions! Your newfound freedoms of time, money, and people relationships will open up other opportunities for you to grow and learn in fields outside of your core business. Enjoy the re-charge you will receive in pursuit of other passions! This is a virtuous cycle that actually makes you more productive when you are engaged in working in or on your business.
